False Image Podcast
False Image Podcast is to provide a more in depth perspective on the fashion industry beyond the glitz and glamour of the runway. In doing so, the podcast serves a beacon for to educate and empower individuals who are directly or indirectly affected by the fashion and beauty industry. The podcast focuses on several different aspects of the fashion industry such as: business of fashion, social issues, career opportunities, style tips, and much more. In addition, the False Image Podcast wishes to forge relationships with individuals and organizations who are involved directly within the industry in which by interviewing these guest we focus on three points within the interview: craftsmanship of their product or services, allowing an opportunity to know the person, and why consumers should invest into their products/services.
Meet the Host / Founder
Glenn Mckeva Wiggins was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. Graduated from Alabama A&M University where he received his degree in the field of International Business and Fashion Design.Glenn has over 5 years of experience within the fashion industry; serving as a designer, event planner, and business entrepreneur. Glenn started back in 2010 where he founded his own fashion website called False Image, he’s traveled the United States to interview people such as Tyra Banks, Tyga, Fern Mallis (founder of New York Fashion Week), and much more. This provided him the opportunity to work and live London for 3 months. Where he creatively contributed to several projects and held multiple internships such as: production assistant at the world largest graduate fashion and exhibition Graduate Fashion Week, London Collection: Men’s show, and bespoke & couture intern at Nylander Couture. In addition, Glenn was invited to research the historical content of Savile Row the birthplace of British bespoke tailoring. Glenn forged relationships with some of the worlds best tailoring firms such as Henry Poole & Company, Scabal, Dege & Skinner, and including John Lobb (bespoke shoemaking company). In his last year he received the highest student award for fashion design “Best Overall Designer”, the first male in Alabama A&M University’s history to receive such an award. Glenn currently serves on the board for the Alabama Fashion Alliance, which focuses on being a fashion incubator for individuals who wish to expand their fashion and/or beauty business within the state of Alabama. Glenn’s main focus is to build False Image into a company that can provide a solid platform to inspire the next generation and assist individuals who are involved within the fashion & beauty industry build sustainable businesses.
